The 2012 budget will be announced on 21st March. We aim to have 50 buses driving around central London for the last two weeks of that month with a CND slogan emblazoned on the side. The exact wording will be decided closer to the time, but it will be a message about the economic cost of nuclear weapons. We need to raise £12,000 to make this happen.
The government are eager to avoid debate about Trident. This is not surprising, as their current policy is very difficult to defend. Whether on moral, economic or defence grounds the arguments in favour of spending more than £100 billion on nuclear weapons are not very convincing. With these bus adverts, and the rest of CND’s campaigning, we can make the debate impossible to avoid.
