Internships
Internships at Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) offer the opportunity
for individuals to further their career goals while helping CND to campaign
non-violently to rid the world of nuclear weapons and other weapons of
mass destruction, creating genuine security for future generations.
As many graduates discover, salaried opportunities within the non-governmental
sector are limited, consequently competition for such positions is great.
By gaining valid work experience with CND, graduates can increase their
potential for employment considerably.
Interns will have the opportunity to participate in CND projects in various
ways, such as helping to source information for fact sheets, briefings
and reports, assisting in researching information for educational packs,
helping with our news cuttings and press service and preparing informational
mailings to CND members and the general public. Interns will also assume
various programmatic and administrative duties associated with the organisation's
activities. Interns will be working under supervision of the Information/Peace
Education and Press Department.
Interns should have excellent research, writing, editing and organisational
skills. Familiarity with computers is required (we primarily use Microsoft
Office, possibilities also in loading information onto our website), as
well as an ability to use the Internet. Interns are asked to work one
or two days (or 8-16 hours) per week so that they can establish a sense
