Membership Volunteers
Our busy Membership Department is looking for 1 - 2 volunteers to assist in our London office one day per week. In addition to general work such as photocopying, the volunteer will assist with queries, make corrections to the database, add new members and prepare letters and forms for mail-outs. They may also be responsible for processing credit card payments. Familiarity with computers is required for this position, as well as an ability to use the internet. Database experience is desirable, but not a requirement as any necessary training will be given. Volunteers within the Membership Department are directly supervised by the Membership team.
It is preferable if volunteers are able to make a commitment of at least six months for these positions.

Merchandise Volunteer
Our Merchandise Department is looking for a volunteer to assist in our London office one day per week. In addition to fulfilling and dispatching orders, the volunteer will assit with queries and check accuracy of stock levels. Ideally, the volunteer will also be able to input and download orders from the website, however this is not a requirement of the position. Volunteers within the Merchandise Department are currently supervised by the Office Manager.

Internships
Internships at Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) offer the opportunity for individuals to further their career goals while helping CND to campaign non-violently to rid the world of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, creating genuine security for future generations.
As many graduates discover, salaried opportunities within the non-governmental sector are limited, consequently competition for such positions is great. By gaining valid work experience with CND, graduates can increase their potential for employment considerably.
Interns will have the opportunity to participate in CND projects in various ways, such as helping to source information for fact sheets, briefings and reports, assisting in researching information for educational packs, helping with our news cuttings and press service and preparing informational mailings to CND members and the general public. Interns will also assume various programmatic and administrative duties associated with the organisation's activities. Interns will be working under supervision of the Information/Peace Education and Press Department.
Interns should have excellent research, writing, editing and organisational skills. Familiarity with computers is required, as well as solid internet research skills. Interns generally stay with us for at least three months and work two days (or 8-16 hours) per week so that they can establish a sense of continuity and undertake substantive assignments. It is preferable if volunteers are able to make a commitment of at least 6 months. Longer and shorter internships are possible upon arrangement. Further information on internships can be found here.
