About the Protest

We want to make the commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Aldermaston March in an entertaining and joyful way. To do this we are proposing that each gate should have a theme which reflects one of the decades of protest. This could be reflected by the music and entertainment at the gate and by people dressing in the appropriate clothing of that era. Each region/block will arrive/leave at the appropriate gate. Visit the website nearer the time to find out about the assignment of gates.

Surround the Base

During the day we hope to have enough people to surround the base. This will take about 5,000 people who can be linked with arms, banners, ribbons or other props.

Speakers / Entertainment

At the moment we have a number of confirmed speakers -faith leaders. activists, international campaigners, trade unionists, parliamentarians - including Kate Hudson, Jon Trickett MP, Jeremy Corbyn MP and Bruce Kent. About 20 to 30 people from Japan, including a few Hibakusha (atomic bomb victims) will also be attending. If you know any entertainers who may be interested in coming then please let us know.

Roving Bus / Float

We are also hoping to have a bus or float which will carry entertainers / speakers between the different gates enabling everyone to see them.

Texting - SMS

You can register your mobile phone number on our website so that you can get text updates and help us coordinate actions on the day. To do this complete the text registration form on our website.

Practicalities

Food

Although we are hoping to have some food provided it would be useful if people could bring their own food and food to share.

Toilets

Toilets (including disabled toilets) will be provided at various places around the base. More details will be circulated when they are finalised.
