CND Conference

CND is a democratic organisation and our annual conference and AGM is the opportunity for members to decide our overall direction for the coming year, to debate contemporary issues and to draw strength and inspiration from participating in a collective national forum.

CND Conference 2016

CND Conference 2016 will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October at:

The Mechanics Centre, 103 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6DD

Saturday 22nd October – AGM & Policy Conference

The AGM will include elections for Officers and directly elected council members. The review of campaigning activities and finances will be taken at the AGM.

Following on from the AGM there will be policy and strategy debates centred on motions submitted by groups and members. This is our policy conference that provides members with the important opportunity to decide our overall direction for the coming year so please do encourage as many of your members as possible to come along and contribute!

Sunday 23rd October – CND Open Conference

A day of discussions, meetings and workshops about tactics and techniques for peace and anti-nuclear campaigning. This event will be open to the public and be an opportunity to share ideas, learn about other campaigns and plan for the year ahead.

The morning will feature panel discussions, where external speakers will share their examples of successful campaigns, be they digital, direct action or Parliamentary. This will include a presentation from Ben Sellers, who ran the successful Jeremy for Leader social media campaign (#JezWeCan). The afternoon will feature a range of meetings hosted by specialist CND groups, including Labour CND, Scottish CND, Youth & Student CND and ICAN UK.   NB. Details for the Campaigning Methods Day are provisional and subject to change.
